Nu? Will you be joining us for our program on the mamaloshen, our mother tongue?

The Generation After’s next program will focus on our Yiddish legacy. Highlighting the program will be Sarah Bunin Benor, Vice Provost and Professor of Contemporary Jewish Studies at Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion and Adjunct Professor in the University of Southern California Linguistics Department. She received her Ph.D. from Stanford University in Linguistics. Full bio.

Dr. Benor will provide a context for understanding the history, impact, and current evolution of the Yiddish language and culture. This heimisch and delightful program will also include a video clip from The Folksbiene Yiddish Theatre, the longest-running Yiddish theatre company in the world; a Yiddish poem read in Yiddish and English; and a Yiddish song. More details in the January Gen After newsletter. Sign up here. A sheynem dank! Thanks so much!
